Wife of Imo State Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha, had taken her pet project, ‘She Needs a Roof’ to Nwangele, Isu and Njaba Local Government Area.
It was gathered that a verification team put in place by the wife of the governor to identify widows and orphans in bad conditions in the said communities and who are in dire need of assistance.
A 70-year-old poor widow from Ogwuaga Abbah in Nwangele Local Government Area, who lost six of her children in quick succession, is to get a modern and well-furnished two-bedroom flat in less than a month from now.
Mrs. Okorocha, who announced the offer during her visit for verification of indigent widows for assistance enjoined Nigerian organisations, corporate bodies and institutions to always identify with the poor and the downtrodden in the society.

She regretted that Mrs. Nnadiekwe, who lost her husband six years ago with nobody to cater for her and her children had remained homeless till date, squatting with good Nigerians.
Assuring the widow, who incessantly shed tears of joy, Mrs. Okorocha announced a university scholarship for one of her daughters, Chinagorom Nnadiekwe.
“There is free education in Imo. Just take your WASC and JAMB and the state-owned university, Imo State University, is there for you,” she said.
